Exercise goals


Lost 1.75lb this week, yay. Got past the 25lb mark as well, double yay!

Today marks the start of week 4 of my abs programme. I read in the WW magazine that abs exercises need to be done 6 days a week to be effective so I've started doing them each morning while running my bath. The only way I can do these things is by incorporating them into my daily routine, and I never have the inclination in the evening so getting it done and dusted by 6am suits me!

I can't see any difference yet (the layer of blubber effectively screens any developing abs!) but I can sometimes feel them twinging during the day and I have been able to increase my reps. I'll keep plugging away.

The other thing I am trying to do is use the stairs at work instead of the lift. Most of my job is on the ground floor but a few times a week I work on the 5th floor for half a day. I also have to go to meetings on the 4th and 6th floors occasionally. Between each floor are 2 staircases of 9 steps each, so using the stairs to the 5th floor is 90 steps a go, not an insignificant climb! This morning I went up and down those stairs 3 times.

20 weeks ago I was gasping for breath after climbing those 90 steps. Now I can go up the lot with only a slight increase in breathing. I even run up a couple of flights.

My final exercise goal for the week is to increase most of my weights again at the gym next Sunday. I'm getting stronger :)
